Spiritual Growth

You can read books, attend seminars and courses on spiritual growth but which is the right one for you to engage in? I once read a book on meditation only to find it didn’t work for me.

Why? Maybe because it was written by someone who had researched meditation but didn’t have any real experience of its actual practice. I suppose it’s the old story of the blind leading the blind and you know what happened to them.

Having been taken up blind alleys in the past myself, I don’t want you to waste whatever precious moments you have left on this planet practicing futile things. So, when looking to change your life, always ask yourself if the information makes sense; does the writer, teacher, know what they’re talking about and most importantly; do they walk their talk?

After that keep an open mind because knowledge gained from other people is only knowledge – thoughts you’ve agreed with, or feel are right. It’s not until you apply the knowledge you’ve gained that you’ll experience the results of your learnings.

You have to put what you’ve learned to the test if change is to be effective; if not all you will have done is add to your existing knowledge, your intellectual understanding and that won’t change anything.

Personal experience is what changes lives, so put what you learn to the test. Try it out, notice the results and change what you’re doing if it’s not working.

Life's a journey not a destination but you need to know where you're going and how to get there!
